As an operations specialist in this fast-growing company, you will be asked to wear multiple hats, supporting both merchant and courier operations. This role is ideal for a driven, action-oriented generalist who has excellent prioritization skills and enjoys solving ambiguous problems.

Tyltgo is adding to our team of passionate people who are building an affordable and reliable same-day delivery service for local merchants. We are equipping brick-and-mortar and direct-to-consumer retailers with the ability to offer same-day delivery to their customers, through an innovative product and business model. We are already working with well-known and beloved local brands in Ontario and rapidly growing. If you’re looking to work at a company that is building the future of last-mile logistics, join Tyltgo.

As an operations specialist on the team, you will be supporting both merchant and courier operations, working on the largest bottlenecks hampering our growth. You will be asked to wear many different hats on a daily basis. You will need to prioritize ruthlessly to tackle the tasks with the highest ROI. You will be asked to work on creating a supply and demand forecast model one day, and then holding a roundtable discussion for our merchant and courier partners the next. This is a generalist role with an ambiguous scope, and your success will be largely defined by your ability to navigate through the uncertainties of a seed-stage company on a rapid growth trajectory.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support both courier and merchant operations managers in the execution of their projects
  • Continuously develop processes that provide maximum leverage to other teams
  • Automate currently manual processes by chaining no-code tools together
  • Be the champion for all couriers and merchants and ensure that they have a “seat at the table” as we make strategic decisions
  • Be the conduit between merchants and the product team to identify merchant and courier pain points and ensure they get resolved through technology

We're looking for someone with:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of operations or account/partner management experience in a dynamic environment; prior startup experience is a plus
  • An ownership mindset and a willingness to "get their hands dirty": we are a seed-stage startup with tons of manual processes
  • An ultimate generalist, and a propensity toward enjoying working across a spectrum of functions
  • A knack for finding problems on your own and solving them, without being asked to
  • A demonstrated ability to find creative solutions to ambiguous problems and deliver results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with focus on empathy for our partners
  • Strong analytical skills to abstract and present data, trends and business information to support fast decision making
  • A quick learner: Ability to pick up new concepts, tools, and processes and own and improve them instantaneously
Nice-to-haves / Okay-not-to-haves:
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with no-code tools. Our no-code stack currently comprises of Google Sheets, Integromat, Notion, Slack, Metabase, Bubble, Hubspot, and Webflow, with more to come
  • Prior start-up experience with a desire to understand all aspects of the business from marketing and sales to product development
  • Prior experience in the logistics industry

Here are some tasks you would work on:

  • Draft a v1 of our standard operating procedure on dispatching: an if-then playbook that lays out a step-by-step instruction for at least 80% of the tasks and issues a dispatcher may face on a daily basis
  • Prepare the end-to-end logistics of holding a virtual roundtable for our merchant and/or courier partners, from invitation to debrief
  • Support the dispatch team during peak season

About us

Tyltgo is reimagining same-day delivery for local merchants. Currently, brick-and-mortar retailers have two options for same-day delivery: they can build it in-house or pay for it. Building an in-house delivery fleet is expensive, time-consuming, and distracts businesses away from their core operations. Paying for it means they either use large online marketplaces and give up their brand identity, or resort to slow and outdated shipping options in an industry that is in desperate need of innovations. Tyltgo empowers brick-and-mortar retailers and e-commerce brands with affordable and reliable same-day delivery under their own brand name.

We are backed by Y Combinator, the co-founder of the Southeast Asian unicorn Traveloka, and several other reputable VC funds, angel investors, and successful entrepreneurs.
